Science Bowl

Science Bowl is a fast paced quiz-show style competition where students try to be the first to buzz in to answer science and math questions. Questions are from all areas of science - earth science, physical science, general science, and life science. The event is sponsored by Bonneville Power Adminstration and is held at the University of Portland.

Some of Our History:

ExCEL began participating in 2003 in the Middle School Science Bowl. Their first year we had a team take 1st place at the Regional competition. The team went undefeated through a long day of answering science and math questions. Team members Kelvin Crockford, Jeremy VanGelder, James Williams, and Kirsten Williams represented Oregon/Washington at the National competition in Golden, Colorado. They tied for 5th place in the nation in both the solar car competition and in the academic competition.
